During November and December, Bank of Bolivar will be running a promotion to enroll new customers. Anyone starting a new account, (such as a checking, saving, or CD account) will be asked to pick one of four charities chosen by Bank of Bolivar. Fair Grove Senior Center is one of those choices. Bank of Bolivar will then donate $20, with no cost to the new customer, to the chosen charity. In January, Bank of Bolivar will distribute those funds to each charity based on customers’ wishes. This is a win-win opportunity for customers to help Fair Grove Senior Center without incurring any cost. Fair Grove Senior Center will add that money to our building fund. We have set a goal of raising $50,000 for the building fund. Our balance in the building fund, held by Community Foundation of the Ozarks, is approximately $32,000. When we reach our goal, we will start applying for Federal and Missouri state grants. We expect those monies will allow us to complete and furnish our building on land donated by Charles and Howard Huff. Currently we hold our weekly meetings, in the Fellowship Hall, of Fair Grove’s United Methodist Church.
If you think your $20 donations don’t add up, last year one of the charities received $1,900. That would make a fine addition to our building fund!
